Homemade Acai Bowl Recipes
I don’t think the ‘treats’ we enjoy during festive times of the year should necessarily be associated with bad eating.
There are so many little swaps, switches and adjustments we can make to ALL the store bought dishes to make them healthy, but keep them tasty!
Here are 2 types of Acai bowls you can throughout the day. Packed with plenty of nutrients and good fats to keep you fuller fo longer, your body and tastebuds will seriously love you for eating this!
ACAI BOWL; Banana version (best had after a workout)
Ingredients
1 cup frozen banana
1 handful spinach
1 tablespoon acai powder
1 tablespoon sugar free maple syrup
1 cup coconut water
1 scoop protein powder
Toppings (blueberries, kiwi fruit, goji berries, chia seeds)
Method
1. In a food processor, combine the coconut water, banana, spinach, acai powder and maple syrup.
2. Once smooth, add in the protein powder for another 5 seconds in food processor.
3. Pour in to bowl or glass.
4. Add in your toppings
5. Serve
ACAI BOWL; Mango, Coconut Version
Ingredients
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup frozen mango
1 handful spinach
1 tablespoon acai powder
1 tablespoon sugar free maple syrup
1 cup almond milk
1 scoop protein powder
Toppings (blueberries, mango, coconut flakes, almond flakes)
Method
1. In a food processor, combine the almond milk, frozen mango, frozen blueberries, spinach, acai powder and maple syrup.
2. Once smooth, add in the protein powder for another 5 seconds in food processor.
3. Pour in to bowl or glass.
4. Add in your toppings
5. Serve
